Follow a young girl and her best friend as they find out just how much can be created using their imagination. Our young heroine discovers a large box. “What’s inside? I’ll open it!” Each exploration leads to another, one door opens another door. There are dancing bits of light to chase and catch, explosions of color from the least likely sources, and other magic that could only come from the ability to let down your guard, open your heart and PLAY.

Using music, sounds, and gentle interaction, our young friend and her buddy will engage children and parents in crafting this delightful and fun-filled world together.

This world premiere production is a 30-minute, interactive, non-verbal show featuring an adult actor and a bass player.

The visual theatre performances at “FreeFest” will feature two remarkable performing groups from Catalonia, Spain – Los Caneca and Chez Leandre.  Both companies are sponsored by the Ramon Illul Institute. Joining them will be one of the Washington area’s top visual theatre companies, Happenstance Theatre performing their delightful “Plunkett and Tremolo.” The Nana Project will be there as well to teach stilt-walking to anyone and everyone .  Pittsburgh-based Dan Kamin will also perform his acclaimed Mr. Slo-Mo, and Drew the Dramatic Fool will be on hand for some tomfoolery.

The campus of Gallaudet University is located at 800 Florida Ave., N.E. in Washington, D.C.

QuestFest is the biennial premier international visual theatre festival produced by Quest Visual Theatre.  It will present over 50 performances in venues in the Baltimore/ Washington area March 9-April 8, 2012.
